Photographer Alec Soth was at the Detroit Film Theater Friday night, to talk about his life's work, and the travails involved while traveling around the country in his minivan. Afterwords there was a Q&A followed by the film "Somewhere to Disappear," a voyeuristic study of Alec as he nervously grapples with the process of finding the next great picture. A beautiful film, that resonates with any photographer who has gone through the agonizing process of trying to create a meaningful body of work.
