Photographer Vincent Cianni launches Kickstarter campaign for his forthcoming book about LBGT's in the Military

Vincent Cianni, is a photographer and author who teaches photography at Parsons The New School of Design, in New York City.

A staple of my book collection is Cianni's book "We Skate Hardcore"; an intimate study of photographs and video, that explores a group of young latino kids living in Brooklyn, whose passion for inline skating is thoughtfully documented by Cianni. The photographs from this series were the inspiration and starting point for my portfolio "The Graffiti Writers" back in 2004.

His newest book project, "Gay's in the Military: How America Thanked Me" exposes the effects of the military's ban  on the lives and careers of LGBT service members. Combining photographs, text and audio, this body of work investigates the discrimination, harassment, civil and human rights abuses that have taken place, and the brave individuals who have risen above the injustices.

Support of his project will help fund the post-production, pre-press, design and print costs to make the book a reality. Follow the link by clicking right here if you wish to contribute.
